Ghostly figures of men women and even dogs have been sighted. The Tower museum plays host to an ancient cradle that is said to 'rock'  by itself at midnight. There are also two human skulls having a long history of poltergeist activity. The author has painstakingly collected the many and varied 'Mysterious Tales from Turton Tower' and put them together in this book.

A Pensioner Visits Peru

A personal story of travel and adventure

Did you know there are pyramids in Peru?  Can mummified corpses talk?  Read how a pensioner travelled to Peru to answer these questions. He stood on the Nazca Lines and later flew over the mysterious geoglyphs that stretch for miles in the desert. At Machu Picchu he walked amongst the ruins of a sacred Inca city that is perched high on a mountain top. At Barranco he walked across the Puente de los Suspiros - The Bridge of Sighs- where it is said a wish is granted to whoever crosses for the first time. The result was quite unexpected!

The Red Tabs

The Red Tabs is a factual account of
South Africa's role in the Desert War

During World War Two thousands of South Africans volunteered to fight in East Africa and the Western Desert.  Together with the Allies they made history at Sidi Rezegh, Tobruk and El Alamein. At a little known spot in the Western Desert  called Acroma Keep, an isolated group of South African soldiers held their ground against overwhelming odds. During their fight against Rommel's armoured force they organised a truce; just long enough to gather their wounded.  Acroma Keep was the last defensive position to fall before the capture of Tobruk.
